A significant fireball has been reported between 6:30 and 7:30 eastern time over Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee. There are no reports from Indiana. Here is a link to that event: http://www.amsmeteors.org/fireball_event/2013/2158 Last night there was a second fireball in two days at 11:33pm over Indiana (the 1st was on Thursday morning). That marks the 14th fireball with at least 25 witnesses in September over the U.S. This marks the most fireball events ever in the month of September. Combining tonight’s mass sighting…that is the 15th fireball this month over the U.S. A fireball is “a meteor brighter than the planet Venus” as defined by the American Meteor Society. They are brighter than typical meteors. Some scientist think that we are moving through a ‘dirty’ region of the universe. If so, we might expect to see more fireballs in the months to come. More
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu plans to tell the United Nations General Assembly that Iran has enough uranium to produce nuclear weapons, reports the Sunday Times. An unnamed senior Israeli official was quoted as having told the newspaper that Netanyahu will say in his speech on Tuesday that Iran currently has 219 kilograms (482 pounds) of enriched uranium, which is enough to produce a nuclear weapon. The report said that Netanyahu will also claim that “Iran has made significant progress in its nuclear program since the new president Hassan Rouhani was elected.” The Sunday Times also reported that during Netanyahu’s meeting with President Barack Obama in Washington on Monday, the Israeli prime minister will present Obama with an intelligence dossier containing evidence that Iran is stepping up its nuclear program. As he left for New York overnight Saturday, Netanyahu promised “to tell the truth in the face of the sweet talk and charm offensive of Iran.” ”Telling the truth at this time is essential for world peace and security and, of course, for Israel’s security,” noted Netanyahu. A new study from Cambridge University has been catching headlines in the United Kingdom over its finding that the same area of the brain impacted by addiction to drugs or alcohol “lit up” in people addicted to pornography. But Judith Reisman, a dynamo who has exposed 1950s sexual revolutionary Alfred Kinsey as a fraud, said it’s the argument she’s been presenting for years: The addictive power of porn. She even has coined a term for the chemicals that stimulate the brain under the influence of porn,”erototoxins.” “My term ‘erototoxin’ refers to natural, endogenous chemicals associated with sexual arousal that synergistically works to induce an addictive milieu in the brain,” she told WND. She noted that toxin, from the Latin toxicus, means literally “imbued with poison,” which, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, is “any substance which, when introduced into or absorbed by a living organism, destroys life or injures health.” “So, is porn toxic?” she asked. “Of course it is and always was.” Reisman pointed out that the 2009 Butner prison study by Michael L. Bourke and Andres E. Hernandez found that 85 percent of men arrested for child pornography also had physically abused children. More
PAKISTAN – Pakistan has just got three brand new islands — thanks to a major earthquake. When the shock of the temblor subsided on Tuesday, people living in the coastal town of Gwadar were stunned to see a new island in the sea. That’s not all. Two other islands have come up along the Balochistan coast. “The island near Gwadar is about 600 feet in diameter and has a height of about 30 feet,” Muhammad Moazzam Khan, technical advisor at WWF Pakistan, told IANS over telephone. He said “gas was coming out” of the island, which primarily consists of “stones and soft mud.” The two islands near Ormara town are small. Khan said the islands had a diameter of about “30-40 feet and a height of about 2-3 feet. Gas is also coming out,” he said. He said that while some islands which form suddenly “stay on,” others gradually fade away. He explained that the islands were formed following the massive earthquake that rocked Balochistan province Tuesday. The death toll in the 7.7-magnitude earthquake has reached 348, and a total of 20,000 houses were destroyed. This is not the first time islands have formed off the Pakistan coast. “In 1945, two big islands had formed near the coast. One was two kilometers long while the other was half kilometer long,” said Khan.
Methane dangers: A match was put to the fissures from where methane was rising. “We put the fire out in the end, but it was quite a hassle. Not even the water could kill it, unless one poured buckets over it,” the resident said. Muhammad Danish, a marine biologist from Pakistans National Institute of Oceanography, told PressTV a team of experts landed on the island yesterday and found methane gas. “Our team found bubbles rising from the surface of the island which caught fire when a match was lit and we forbade our team to start any flame. It is methane gas,” Danish said. Exactly how much methane is accumulated within the mud is unknown, he said, but the risk of explosion is very real. Extinction Protocol
NEW ZEALAND – Aucklanders have been warned that they cannot be complacent about the risk of volcanoes and that a serious eruption could cause large-scale destruction and force the evacuation of 450,000 people in the region. Experts say an eruption in the Auckland volcanic field is a “low probability, high consequence” event but city-dwellers would only have days to prepare. Scientists, civil defense experts, academics, and council staff were in the city yesterday for the Managing Volcanic Risk in Auckland forum, pooling their knowledge to plan for a possible city-wide disaster. Civil Defense Minister Nikki Kaye opened the forum, spelling out possible consequences for Auckland in the event of an eruption. “If we look at possible effects on Auckland these could include the devastation of buildings and infrastructure, large economic losses, a reduction in air and rail services, disruption to vital lifeline services, and increased health risks from ash and dust,” she said. Experts could not prevent an eruption, or predict exactly when one might occur, but the most recent eruption in the Auckland volcanic field was Rangitoto, about 550 years ago, she said. Auckland City Council civil defense controller Clive Manley said although agencies were combining efforts to plan for an eruption, it was difficult to tell how the public would react. Research showed Aucklanders felt safe from natural disasters, and would hesitate before acting to protect themselves, he said.
Preparation: “It’s a huge challenge in getting Auckland to take it seriously.” People saw civil defense staff efficiently managing small-scale storms and did not see a need to prepare for an emergency. “We’re doing such a good job we’re making people complacent.” The worst-case scenario eruption could affect a zone within a 5km radius, and up to 450, 000 people. Aucklanders were the least prepared nationwide for an emergency and only 11 per cent had emergency kits. GNS volcanologist Brad Scott said there had been between 50 to 55 eruptions in the field over the last 250,000 years, but the results were “variable over that time,” and it was not possible to pinpoint when volcanic activity could next occur. In the case of the Mt Tongariro eruption in August last year, scientists monitored seismic activity once signs of unrest occurred, but were unable to predict the exact eruption time. Aucklanders could expect days to weeks of warning at most, he said. “Volcanoes always put their hand up.” Most of the public considered Rangitoto the most prominent volcano because it was “in peoples’ face” but it was monitored on an equal footing to all the other volcano’s in the field. The American Meteor Society (AMS) reports that it has received over 400 reports of a large fireball (bright meteor) over the U.S. Midwest today (September 26, 2013). People in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and Wisconsin spotted the meteor around 7:05 a.m. CDT; that was local time for the sighting. Witnesses from reported a bright light moving across the morning sky. The estimated trajectory for the fireball took it nearly over Indianapolis. September has been a busy month for sightings of bright fireballs, according to the AMS. This morning’s event marks the 13th fireball sighting with at least 25 witnesses, the most ever since the AMS started recording sightings online, they say. Earthsky
Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, says he believes Syrian rebels are responsible for the chemical weapons used in the attacks on Aug. 21 that killed an estimated 1,400 Syrian civilians, including children. Western nations, including the United States, debunk those theories by pointing to the United Nations inspections, which are said to prove that the Syrian government is, indeed, responsible for gassing its own people. I don’t wish to oversimplify the situation in Syria, but I do want to look at the events that are unfolding there from a biblical prophecy perspective and what part the United States could play within those prophecies. The United States has been acting as the world cop for some time now. This has built up resentment toward America, and the day has to come when America will be reduced from being the world’s No. 1 superpower. According to biblical prophecy, America is not going to be a major player in the coming tribulation years. More
East Texans going for a run on a popular trail are being faced with a gross and smelly problem. Dead fish are floating in Cargill Creek, next to Cargill Long park in Longview. Almost overnight, hundreds of fish, maybe thousands, were spotted dead, lining the banks of the Creek. ”Anytime you have something like this where you have a report of possibly we have fish that have died along the creek, it’s something we take seriously,” says Longview spokesman Shawn Hara. Numerous species have been found amongst the dead fish. ”There are several things it could have been. First thing that comes to mind is somebody upstream that fertilized real heavy or used some kind of chemicals on their lawn. When you get a big rain like we did recently, it washes off into our water system,” says Gregg County Agricultural Extension Agent Hugh Soape. One witness claims there was a heavy smell of sewage when the fish were found. ”Our public works crew is taking a look right now and investigating and they will report back to TECQ,” Hara says. But there’s another remote possibility. The heavy rains from Friday flooded into oxygen depleted waters. Amazingly, the fish could have died from a sudden rush of fresh water. More
2 Timothy 3: But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
One in eight men would choose a brand new iPhone over a girlfriend, according to a new survey conducted by a UK site — but, that may not be the most surprising result. Sale Land’s survey also found that three-percent of men would break up with their current love interest for the new iPhone. “I’ve been going out with the same girl for three years but if it meant getting may hands on a new iPhone she’d be dumped instantly,” one man said, according to The Telegraph. “To be honest I’m getting a bit fed up with her anyway.” “Of course I wouldn’t leave my girlfriend for the latest Apple gadget – although I may be tempted when it comes to the new Samsung Galaxy,” another reportedly said. The survey added that about half asked said they had used a phone app to resolve an argument with their significant other. The Telegraph did note, however, that “there have been no reports of men attempting to exchange girlfriends for iPhones.” The Blaze
A local pastor was shot and killed during a revival service Friday night, authorities and witnesses said.
Ronald J. Harris Sr., of the Tabernacle of Praise at 307 Deshotel Lane, died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Stitch Guillory said the alleged shooter, Woodrow Karey, 2808 Foret St., Iowa, turned himself in. Karey, 53, will be charged with second-degree murder, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said. The shooting happened around 8:20 p.m. and the motive is still under investigation. Around 50-60 people were in the service and all will be interviewed by detectives, Guillory said. “We’re in the beginning stages of the investigation,” Guillory said. “We’ve got a long way to go and a lot of people to talk to. It’s very fortunate no one else was injured with so many people there.” Parishioners described Karey as a former member. After the shooting, church members milled around in the parking lot and on Deshotel Lane, all the way to Opelousas Street. More
BREAKING NEWS: US appeasement of Iran drowns Israel’s military option against nuclear Iran or chemical Syria
Thursday, Sept.26, will go down in Israel’s history as the day it lost its freedom to use force either against the Iranian nuclear threat hanging over its head or Syria’s chemical capacity – at least, so long as Barack Obama is president of the United States. During that time, the Iranian-Syrian-Hizballah axis, backed by active weapons of mass destruction, is safe to grow and do its worst. Ovations for the disarming strains of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani’s serenade to the West and plaudits for the pragmatism of its Foreign Minister Mohammed Zarif flowed out of every window of UN Center in New York this week. Secretary of State John Kerry, who took part in the highest-level face to face encounter with an Iranian counterpart in more than 30 years, did say that sanctions would not be removed until Tehran produced a transparent and systematic plan for dismantling its nuclear program.
But then, in an interview to CBS TV, he backpedaled. Permission for international inspectors to visit the Fordo underground enrichment facility would suffice for the easing of sanctions starting in three months’ time.
By these words, the US pushed back Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s first demand to shutter Fordo and its equipment for enriching uranium to near-weapons grade, which he reiterated at this week’s Israeli cabinet meeting in Jerusalem. To Tehran, Kerry therefore held out the promise of a short deadline for starting to wind sanctions down – this coming December. Tehran’s primary objective is therefore within reach, the easing for sanctions without having to rescind any part of its nuclear aspirations – called “nuclear rights” in Iranian parlance. More

Barack Obama promised to fundamentally transform America, and when it comes to health care he has definitely kept his promise. Thanks to Obamacare, health care spending is up, health insurance premiums are up, the number of hours Americans are working is down and employer-based health insurance is becoming an endangered species. Of course employer-based health insurance will not disappear completely any time soon, but it has been steadily shrinking for over a decade, and Obamacare will greatly accelerate that decline. If you go back to 1999, 64.1 percent of all Americans were covered by employment-based health insurance. That was pretty good. Today, only 54.9 percent of all Americans are covered by employment-based health insurance, and now thousands upon thousands of U.S. employers are considering reducing the scope of the health plans they offer to employees or eliminating them altogether due to Obamacare. If you are thinking that this sounds like a potential nightmare for millions of Americans families, you would be exactly right. More

Fifty hand-picked Christians were part of a seminal conference last week planned by Matthew Vines, a 23-year-old gay Christian who believes Scripture allows for monogamous homosexual activity, in an effort to spread the idea in the American church over the next decade. Vines says he has had success in convincing lay members of churches over the last year that monogamous homosexual activity is allowed by Scripture, but is encountering resistance from Scriptural scholars. He is likely to encounter much more, say theologians. More than 100 people applied to participate in the four-day conference, though only 50 were accepted, and the chosen were required to rigorously study throughout the summer before the conference even began. Vines sent them 1,100 pages of dense, academic reading material, for example, to make sure they understood both sides of the issue before the event began last Wednesday. ”The goal of the conference was to be training Christians who are in churches that don’t currently support LGBT people and to give them the biblical tools and knowledge that they need to go back to their churches and have constructive, persuasive conversations with other believers on these issues,” Vines told CP. Some conference participants do attend LGBT-affirming churches, Vines told CP, though those who do so have other ties to conservative Christians. More

Netanyahu to speak at UN on Tuesday | Hours before departing for U.S., Netanyahu instructs Israeli officials not to publicly discuss Iran
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed government ministers and official spokesmen on Saturday not to give interviews or issue public statements regarding the phone call between U.S. President Barack Obama and Iranian President Hassan Rohani, or on the Iranian issue in general. Following Netanyahu’s instructions, minsters Yuval Steinitz and Gilad Erdan, as well as Israeli Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren canceled scheduled interviews with various television stations. Netanyahu’s instructions were aimed at avoiding gaffes by ministers or official spokesmen such as criticism of Obama or U.S. foreign policy before Netanyahu meets with Obama at the White House on Monday. Earlier on Saturday, a senior Israeli official said that White House National Security Advisor Susan Rice informed her Israeli counterpart Yaakov Amidror on Friday of the planned telephone conversation between Obama and Rohani, and then informed him of its contents after it had taken place. ”The goal of the prime minister’s trip is to expose the Iranian lie at the United Nations,” said a senior diplomatic source in Jerusalem. “Netanyahu fears they’re heading toward a bad agreement with Iran, and if this is the situation, he prefers there be no agreement whatsoever.” More
If officials in the Obama administration are to be believed, a dramatic shift is under way in US-Iranian relations. On the adviser, cabinet and presidential levels – for the first time in over three decades – the two sides are talking to each other in earnest and without intermediaries. That development alone, the US believes, is a signal of Iran’s genuine interest in a negotiated settlement and the effectiveness of their sanctions regimen, tightened significantly over the past two years to lead to this very moment, when a thaw in relations may finally be in the strategic interests of the Islamic Republic. The cold Swiss channel, used for years as the go-between to transfer messages from Washington to Tehran, has been effectively abandoned. US Secretary of State John Kerry’s private meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif this week included no deputies or note-takers. And while the US offered a brief encounter between Presidents Barack Obama and Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York at the last minute (which did not take place), it was Rouhani, according to the White House, who suggested the resulting 15- minute phone call, which began with congratulatory praise from Obama on his counterpart’s election and ended with a farewell from the US president in Farsi. CHESTER, Va. — A Confederate battle flag-raising that has stirred a strong response in Richmond is scheduled at a private location south of the city. Sponsors of the flag-raising say a memorial service will be held Saturday morning in Chesterfield County. Organizers say the 10-by-15-foot flag will be visible from busy Interstate 95. In Richmond, the former capital of the Confederacy, the flag-raising has been criticized by many who consider the Confederate flag a symbol of division. Nearly 25,000 have signed an online petition in opposition to the flag-raising, and many are countering the Chesterfield County event with displays of the American flag. A group called the Virginia Flaggers is sponsoring the flag-raising. They say it is not intended to offend but to honor the South’s war dead. The Washington Post
BREAKING NEWS: Islamabad (AFP) – A powerful 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit southwest Pakistan Saturday, in a region already devastated by a tremor which left more than 300 people dead and 100,000 homeless less than a week ago. The new quake struck the remote district of Awaran, at a depth of 14 kilometres at 12:34 pm (0734 GMT) according to the US Geological Survey. ”It was not an aftershock, it was an independent earthquake,” Zahid Rafi, director of the National Seismic Centre of Pakistan, told Geo TV. Awaran, the poorest district in the southwest province of Baluchistan, was shattered by a 7.7-magnitude quake on Tuesday which left 359 dead and more than 100,000 people homeless. Relief efforts there have been thwarted by insurgent attacks on rescue convoys, with local officials admitting that teams have been unable to reach thousands of survivors in the worst-hit areas. An AFP reporter in Awaran said Saturday that hundreds of patients being treated in the aftermath of the previous quake fled a hospital in panic as the new tremor hit. More
Meteor seen over Cincinnati and region –People who were outdoors around 11:30 p.m. Friday got a brief but bright light show. They saw an apparent meteor that streaked across the sky, lighting the landscape like the bright part of a fireworks show. Three different people who contacted FOX19 from Batesville, IN and Mason and Monroe, OH described the light as taking a number of second to cross the sky, and leaving a trail behind it that glowed for several seconds. The American Meteor Society quickly received almost 200 online reports of the event, with 131 reports coming from Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, and 46 more from Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia as of shortly after midnight Eastern Daylight Time. Local police agencies also received calls about the sighting. Meteors are pieces of rock, usually fairly small, that enter the atmosphere at enormous spee
September 27, 2013 – ITALY – It would seem a new volcanic vent has formed and is ejecting gas and sand about 100 meters off the coast of Fiumicino, west of Rome: the phenomenon has started less than 24 hours ago and the mayor Outside Montino, along with his staff and experts from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology are headed to the scene to the foothills. At the moment in fact there is no news about the possible links that you have between this event and the past, showing the opening of many volcanoes in two Viale Coccia di Morto. On August 27, a volcanic vent opened up near Fiumicino, ejecting steam and gas- these two events could to be related and may suggest the geology under Italy is in the midst of massive changes. There are dozens of active, and very restless volcanoes sitting on the sea floor of the Tyrrhenian Sea. –CMI, TEP
