7.5 QUAKE ON CALIFORNIA FAULT COULD BE DISASTROUS

Experts say a bigger earthquake along the lesser-known fault that gave Southern California a moderate shake could do more damage to the region than the long-dreaded “Big One” from the more famous San Andreas Fault. The Puente Hills thrust fault, which brought Friday night’s magnitude-5.1 quake centered in La Habra and well over 100 aftershocks by Sunday, stretches from northern Orange County under downtown Los Angeles into Hollywood – a heavily populated swath of the Los Angeles area. House Intel Boss: Putin Looking to Invade Eastern Europe

Rep. Mike Rogers, a Michigan Republican and the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, told Fox News today Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing to invade Ukraine and other nations in Eastern Europe. Rogers made the claim despite a complete lack of evidence. Rogers said Russian troops are ready to move into South Ossetia and may go into Armenia and the Baltic states. Rogers insisted Russia is engaged in a “covert operation” designed to rile up Russian-speaking residents of Ukraine and agitate them to push for secession. He said intelligence officers and special forces did the same in Crimea, which ultimately voted to secede from Ukraine and the junta installed by the State Department. More

AIR FORCE AIRBRUSHES RELIGIOUS LIBERTY AGAIN

Fox News reported a few weeks ago how the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., removed a Bible verse from a cadet’s personal whiteboard. I am personally so disappointed that the branch of service that I served in to protect our freedoms is now trying to suppress them. When one walks the dorm halls of the Air Force Academy, one immediately notices the hundreds of whiteboards hanging on students’ doors. This past week, Rep. Randy Forbes, R-Va., cited Air Force officials who explained that cadets ”often use these boards to display items, quotes or other things that reflect their personality or from which they draw inspiration.” I guess the Bible is the wrong type of inspiration, at least according to some Air Force leaders. China plans to cover world with surveillance satellites.

China is considering a plan to cover the entire world with a network of surveillance satellites.
If it went ahead the plan could see more than 50 observation satellites in orbit within two years, The South China Morning Post reported. This would put the country’s satellite surveillance capabilities on a par, or greater than, the US. The paper said support for the massive upscale was fuelled by China’s frustration over the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight 370. Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon met with Gen. Ya’alon thanked Dempsey for being a “true friend of the State of Israel and the IDF.” The defense minister had in recent weeks come under fire from the Obama administration for criticizing what he described as its feeble image in the world. “We very much appreciate the relations between the US and Israel,” he said on Sunday. “For us, the US is a strategic ally and our greatest friend. Relations with the US are a cornerstone in the national security of Israel.” More

‘Pastor’ Mase Allegedly Moonlighting as Vile Rapper

ATLANTA – The congregation of El Elyon International Church in Atlanta, Georgia is reportedly taking issue with their pastor, Mason Betha, who they accuse of living a double life as a vile rapper. Betha is known as Ma$e in the hip-hop world, where he became a platinum-selling artist in the 1990′s until he decided to leave rap to become a minister. However, Betha recently returned to the hip-hop scene, and some members of his congregation are concerned that he has returned to his old ways. “[T]hey believe Mase is living a double life, spending as much time in the studio with hardcore rappers as in the church,” TMZ reports. “And they say his messages from the pulpit drip in hypocrisy, because what he raps about is exactly the opposite.” Ma$e was recently featured on the song Tricky Situation, performed by Remo the Hitmaker, which speaks of the dilemma of having a relationship with a woman who is already engaged. Chemical plant to wipe small Louisiana town off the map

For over a decade, residents of the small town of Mossville, Louisiana, have been reporting numerous cases of premature death, disease and cancer. A new plot by a large chemical plant looks to finish them off, paying 80 percent or more of the residents to leave the town, which could nearly wipe Mossville off the map. Residents of the community have long suspected the causes behind the community’s deteriorating health situation, pointing to the 14 chemical plants that surround their town. ”I got cancer. My dad had cancer. In fact, he died of cancer. It’s a lot of people in this area who died of cancer,” says Herman Singleton Jr., 51, who has lost two uncles and an aunt to cancer. Fellow resident Debra Ramirez said her sister died of a rare inflammatory disease called sarcoidosis. More

As the conventional news coverage of Flight 370 becomes increasingly delusional and detached from reality, for the sake of all those families and loved ones still suffering I thought it important to publish a reality check that can help bring the discussion back to some common sense. Newly discovered dwarf planet could challenge what we know about our solar system
While Pluto might have been stripped of its full planetary status, thanks to a shift in official definitions, a newly discovered planetoid could actually hint at the existence of a “super-Earth” in the far reaches of our solar system. The ball of rock and ice, known as 2012 VP113, is estimated to be 250 miles wide, and has the most distant known orbit of our sun — currently around 7.7 billion miles, extending to around 42 billion at its farthest. 2012 VP113 was spotted using the Dark Energy Camera in Chile, after a series of time-lapse photos captured it moving across the night sky. Palestinians Give Israel Until Tomorrow to Set Prisoner Release

Palestinians demanded Israel agree by tomorrow to approve an overdue release of Palestinian prisoners, a dispute that has jeopardized U.S.-sponsored peace talks. If Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to balk at freeing the last of 104 prisoners he agreed to release, Palestinian leaders will meet tomorrow on how to respond, Prisoner Affairs Minister Issa Qaraqi told Voice of Palestine radio today. Options include further efforts to pursue Palestinian statehood and sanctions against Israel for its occupation of land the Palestinians claim for a state. More

US AND RUSSIA TALKS FAIL TO END UKRAINE DEADLOCK

The United States and Russia agreed Sunday that the crisis in Ukraine requires a diplomatic resolution, but four hours of talks between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov failed to break a tense East-West deadlock over how to proceed. Sitting face-to-face but not seeing eye-to-eye on any of the most critical issues, Kerry and Lavrov advanced far- different proposals on how to calm tensions and de-escalate the situation, particularly as Russia continues to mass troops along its border with the former Soviet republic. As he called for Moscow to begin an immediate pullback of the troops, Kerry also ruled out discussion of Russia’s demand for Ukraine to become a loose federation until-and-unless Ukrainians are at the table.
